Edgar's twin, Sabin is slightly the younger of the two. Not that you can tell by looking at them; he's far bigger and physically somewhat stronger. Terra notoriously mistook him for a wandering bodybuilder. The Figaro twins are the toughest in the game, if by toughness you mean "Stamina." And Sabin is, barring Esper level-up bonuses, the strongest character in the game, and one of the fastest. Not bad at all. Presumably he's had some sort of martial arts training all his life, but he started to focus on it intensively when he left home after the death of his father. He trained with the South Figaro-based sensei Duncan and his son, Vargas, for a time, but he also develops techniques on his own once he joins the party. His Blitzes, when used properly, have the potential to be the most powerful special skill in the game. And when he's equipped properly, he has the potential to be the strongest character. Give him a Genji Glove and his two best weapons and he's a be-mulleted, one-man army.
Oh, yeah... the mullet. Sabin is also a walking fashion disaster, with his mullet (pulled into a little ponytail, no less) and his muscle shirt. These two particulars of appearance denote a certain type of guy you occasionally locate in gas stations or grocery stores. I mean, you don't actually KNOW anyone who thinks this is acceptable garb, but you can see them, and they often ARE bodybuilders, and they frequently look sort of icky. Somehow, Sabin avoids this. It's probably the innocent look; he just isn't one of those guys who's all proud of his bicep measurements. He probably doesn't even know his bicep measurements. But I'm getting into personality here. Sabin's distressing fashion choices should make him look like one of those people, but they don't; somehow, he carries it off. It's worth noting that in Amano's original sketches, Sabin had a beard, which made the whole look more acceptable for some reason. It was darker than his hair, which is fairly normal for blonde men, and he looked quite nice in it. It was removed for the game's graphics, probably because it would have been nearly impossible to duplicate on the sprite version. He also had a tan, which as we all know is flippin' bizarre for Yoshitaka "I love albinos!" Amano. The original Sabin design, although visually quite appealing, doesn't convey much of his personality... he just looks cool.
